GALLERY: Buffalo Lake Life
There's plenty of activity on Buffalo Lake -- on, in and around the water. Fishermen and women, pontooners, wildlife, wild weather. You're likely to see it all...except for, perhaps, an actual buffalo.
You're never too young to get the essential Wisconsin pontoon experience.
The dock is in
A new dock was installed at the County Road C boat launch, just in time for all the bass boats!
Buffalo Lake has several rare white lotus beds that members work to protect, restore and expand. They offer ecological as well as aesthetic benefits to our lake.
A little beach action
At an island near the Montello dam, lake goers park the pontoons to socialize and see what they can find underwater!
A bad day of fishing is better than any day at work.
Making memories while the sun shines.
A flock of pelicans
Buffalo Lake residents were happy to share the lake with a flock of pelicans in April. The vertical plates on the bills mean these birds are ready to mingle.
Get out and explore
It's not quite Marquette and Joliet but there's plenty to explore when you go off the beaten path from the main part of the lake, as these kayakers discovered.
A couple of swans enjoyed the weather before the snow returned. Wait, are these snow geese??
This is Wisconsin after all.
Another day on the lake comes to a close with a gorgeous sunset.
